WFML REAL BRIDE: ELIZABETH & NATHAN - WEDDING GOWN DESIGN

Posted by on

Gorgeous bride Elizabeth and her husband Nathan planned their big day in just under two years as she was in her final year of university when they got engaged and needed extra time due to building their first home together. Unfortunately, two weeks before their wedding day there was a fire at their venue Spicers Hidden Vale. The wedding day ran as smoothly as could be expected as the fire didn’t affect the ceremony location and the team at Spicers did everything they could to ensure everything turned out as planned and make the day perfect. The couple decided to base their wedding off a feeling rather than a particular theme, with natural beauty and a relaxed atmosphere. Choosing Spicers Hidden Vale as their venue was the perfect choice as they didn’t have to spend too much on styling except for key elements and flowers. Collecting inspiration from Instagram, Elizabeth showed her vision to her stylist/florist and gave her the creative license to put it all together in line with their budget.

After visiting five different bridal stores, trying on approximately 10-15 dresses and searching online, Elizabeth knew she wouldn’t find a dress to fall in love with ‘off the shelf’ and decided to  visit the When Freddie Met Lilly studio. She had a general idea of what she was looking for; a flowing skirt, lace overlay and blush pink in colour after deciding the traditional white or cream colour wasn’t what she was looking for. Throughout her bridal experience she was open to trying on different styles, shapes and colours but each time it confirmed her feelings that she needed a designer that would be able to customise and create a bespoke gown. Vanessa knew exactly how to help, figuring out which tops and skirts of gowns would be right as well as picking the perfect pink! This appointment was her last bridal appointment as she knew she had found the right place to bring her pink dress vision to life. “Nothing was too much to ask and the girls at WFML made me feel comfortable and at ease throughout the process. They really understood the vision I had hoped to create and I felt confident with their suggestions.”

When we asked Elizabeth how her gown made her feel on her special day her response was “I felt absolutely amazing and the colour/style suited me perfectly. The dress was exactly what I had envisioned and was super comfortable to wear the whole day. We were even fortunate to have a pink-toned sunset to complement the dress and made for some beautiful wedding photos.”

When it came to choosing suits for the groom and his groomsmen, Elizabeth and her bridesmaid had browsed potential suits and they decided on navy blue which would look great on everyone as well as complement all the blush tones in the wedding.

Elizabeth’s tip for future brides was “Don't be afraid to choose or create a wedding gown that may not be 'traditional'. Choose a style and colour that makes you feel confident, beautiful and are comfortable to be wearing all day.”

Congratulations Elizabeth & Nathan!
