Why you should choose a Sequin Wedding Gown
If someone would ask us – why would you wear a sequin wedding gown for your wedding, glamour immediately jumps to mind. Maybe it makes you think of your childhood days…the Disney princess you wanted to be at the school concert. So how about feeling like a fairytale princess on your wedding day?
A sparkling gold or silver dress… or in any other colour for that matter! We as children always adored anything shiny…and some of us never outgrew it!
Whether you prefer a vintage dress, a mermaid type dress, a ball gown or ultra-modern short shiny dress – you can incorporate sequins. Your wedding dress is probably the most expensive piece of clothing you’ll ever buy. And even if not, at least it should look like it.
Go for a Sequin Wedding Gown
Not into the whole white wedding scene? Then a beautiful non-traditional glittery gold sequined dress is the solution for you. But, if you love the idea of feeling extra special with a touch of sparkle but aren’t sure you can carry off a golden bridal gown, not to worry. Off white wedding dresses, or any other colour of your choice, can work well with sequins! If you’re afraid of going all-out metallic, why not opt for some gold lace or sequin detailing on your white or ivory dress? We here at When Freddie met Lilly just adore a sumptuous metallic gown, (and the sequined one is one of our favorite) but the sheer fabrics also go beautifully with beading or sequins, and you could wear light fabrics, Grecian accessories and sporadic sequins for a soft summer feeling. Just blend light and heavy for balance.
Let your dress be the statement piece on your special day, incorporating plenty of sparkle for a truly unique bridal look!
You will shine bright as the star of the show with our gold Kate Gown here at When Freddie met Lilly, which has a boat neck, three-courter sleeves and scooped back, and LOTS of sequins.
On top of that, the right accessories can elevate your look and add personality. For an example, have a look at our Danielle Comb Headdress, made of sequins, seed beads and Swarovski crystal detail!
Another option is to just cover yourself up with a shimmery wrap, even a colourful one, which is a great choice for a chilly outdoor wedding
Or you can wear a sequin veil for a fabulously colourful and quirky wedding.
How about adding some sparkle to your bouquet as well, with a shimmery metallic or sequin accent here and there?
If you love sequins, but you’re worried about looking more like a beauty pageant than a blushing bride, pair them with neutral shoes, white blooms and minimal jewellery. Mixing the super glam with the traditional is too chic for words!
Are you slightly overweight and looking for a plus-size dress? Then look no further than one of our shiny champagne sequin long train evening dresses, like our Rikki sequin wedding gown.
Our Kathleen gown is a beautiful slim fitted gown in head to toe sequins. It is a stylish and contemporary choice for your bridesmaids, and also comes in gold or for something a bit more different, in a navy colour.
By adding some sparkle to everything, you will ensure a fresh-looking outstanding wedding day!
Sequins and glitter are number one for overall décor: tablecloths and table runners, centerpieces and table numbers…
A tablecloth with chunky sequins, soft plants and warm candles make for a breathtaking wedding dinner scene.
We here at When Freddie met Lilly love the idea of mixing fuchsia orchids (and other amazing colourful exotic blooms) with champagne sequin tablecloths.
You may choose to go for a rustic glam welcome table mixing country and glamour, where you use family furniture or antiques for a super personalized feel.
When in doubt, pair all metallics with pastels — it’s like wedding magic. Just think pink champagne in glasses with shiny rims.
Your dessert table will look just as amazing in silver or rose gold, too.
Or you could use a gorgeous sequin table runner with pastel for a glitter dessert table.
Your guests at the reception will love taking photos in front of a glitter rustic or metallic sequin backdrop, like in front of a golden curtain at the film awards!
Any ways to style with sequins that we’ve missed?
