When Freddie met Lilly Brides: Rachel
As the year is coming to an end, we thought we would check in on our When Freddie met Lilly brides from 2015 to see how their Big Day had come together and how they managed through a particularly stressful period of time!!! Take note – all our future WFML 2016 couples…You might be able to learn a thing or two!
In this edition, we have a very special When Freddie met Lilly bride: Rachel
So please tell us, how did you meet the man of your dreams !?
Kurt and I were actually set up by my mum and her personal trainer who was also Kurt’s personal trainer. We organised to meet at a cafe… I ran out of my mum’s place saying I’d be gone for half an hour and returned 3 hours later!
For all our readers out there, where was the venue for your wedding held?
We originally planned to have the ceremony and reception at the Fig Tree Restaurant with the ceremony being outdoors…. HOWEVER, it was raining and there was a fair bit of wind. Byron Bay Weddings were amazing and organised for the ceremony to be held at Byron View Farm with the reception still at the Fig Tree Restaurant. It was perfect and the verandah at Byron View Farm meant our guests could still sit outside with the beautiful views surrounding us.
Who was your photographer? And was it important aspect for you to capture the day’s event of your BIG DAY? Which images were most important to you?
We used Fig Tree Pictures with Brenden being our primary photographer. They were amazing and I knew from their portfolio that they would capture all of our moments in the way I had visualised. Having a good photographer was pretty important to us because we would have photos to cherish forever and bring back the memories of our special day. Capturing emotions of us and those around us candidly was important and we also made sure we had plenty of photos of just the two of us.
So tell us, how was your BIG DAY!? We feel so privileged we could be apart of such a special day.
Our big day was amazing! It was everything we had imagined and more! All of the suppliers were amazing and the staff at the venue were just so cool, calm and collected and everything went so smoothly especially considering we had a last minute change of venue for the ceremony. When searching for your Wedding Gown, were you following the latest trends for Bridal wear or were you looking for the more traditional look? I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted- I knew I wanted something fitted, lace and a low back. I also tried on some more traditional dresses just to say I had and thankfully I didn’t need to do too much searching for my dress. As soon as I saw the dresses at When Freddie Met Lilly, I knew I would wear one of your divine gowns.
Which Gown did you choose from When Freddie Met Lilly’s Bridal Gown Collection? Was Freddie When Met Lilly helpful during what can be quite a stressful time in the lead up to the big day?
I chose the Valentina gown. From the first time I went in and tried on some of the gowns to my multiple fittings afterwards, the staff were amazing! Monica and Vanessa were incredibly helpful and there was never a stressful moment (especially with a glass of bubbles).
How did you know this dress (insert name of gown here) was ‘the one’ for your special day?
The Valentina was absolutely perfect for me! Of course everyone says the bride looks beautiful but EVERYONE mentioned how stunning I was and how perfect the gown was for me.
Any tips, for the future brides searching that perfect dress?
Have an idea of what styles you like or at least what styles may suit your body. Also be willing to try a couple of different styles though. You generally know when you’ve found ‘the dress’. The first time I went to WFML, I found 3 dresses I liked and went home to think about it… I could not stop thinking about the Valentina gown, it was the one I kept picturing and I dreamt about it that night so I was sure it was the one.
