WFML Real Bride: Tracey
After a bit of a let down with her wedding gown, Tracey found us to create her dream dress! Read about her experience here.
So please tell us – with months (or even years!) of planning, did the Big Day run smoothly!?
The planning piece was complicated, planning something ina city you have spent little time in is certainly a challenge with only 8 months to plan in, fortunately it did go to plan and everything ran really smoothly.
Was your wedding themed? Did you and your hubby go for a traditional feel or more contemporary style?
Our wedding was not themed we had a very contemporary wedding, and didn’t partake any tradition we met for photos before the ceremony, we had a our ceremony in a speak easy style bar without vows but with lots of laughter, we did not do a cake and only my maid of honour and flower girl held flowers – I was more a champagne in hand bride.
How did The Dress fit into your theme? Did you have an idea of which style you wanted before beginning the search for your Bridal Gown? And did this change much after you saw the girls at WFML?
The Dress, was in fitting with my contemporary vibe – not white, very unique and reflective of our style, and designed with the concept in mind that perhaps it could be worn again for the right event or being altered slightly.
I had originally met with a dressmaker that had designed a concept and then sadly at the 11th hour let me know I felt conned and like time was extremely wasted but that’s when I found the amazing girls at WFML who listened to my brief, were open to anything I wanted and provided the best most amazing experience in finding a dress and completely reengineering to my every desire – honestly magical.
Did your man choose his Suit? Or with some guidance did you help him? Did his suit compliment your gown? (or was it the other way around hehe).
My man is more of a fashion guru than me, he entirely designed his own look and that of our son and best man, he gave me tie options he liked and I was able to input on that only to suit the dress. The two outfits came together very well on the day.
How many dresses did you try on before you knew it was the one? 5? 10? 15+?
I tried on a number of styles more than dresses to be sure of the shape I was after as I was determined to design my own dress so probably at least 15 or more to get all the features correct i.e. split, train, back, neckline, fabric etc…
How did your gown make you feel on your very Special Day?
Were the girls from When Freddie met Lilly helpful in what can be quite a busy and time consuming process when find The Dress?
The girls were outstanding and entirely faultless in the whole process with the end result beyond perfection. I would and will recommend them to anyone!!
Any tips for our future Brides choosing a gown that makes the day complete?
Stay true to your heart and don’t compromise on something that means the most to you.
