WFML Real Bride: Tara
Tara was an absolute delight throughout the entire process of designing and making her bespoke bridal gown. Her big day with husband Sam is a truly lovely read.
Tara and Sam tied the knot on December 9, 2017 at the Stamford Plaza Brisbane. The ceremony was held outdoors in their gorgeous garden alongside the Brisbane river. Both Sam and Tara are active people so it was important to them that their special day was spent surrounded by greenery, open air and water. The reception was held inside the Grand Ballroom with plenty of room for their guests to party and dance the night away! The couple spent two years planning their wedding as multiple members of the bride party were travelling over from London for the event. “In the lead up to the day, people were telling me it was going to be the best day of my life and while I had high expectations for the day I didn’t quite understand how it was all going to pan out. Hands down the BEST day of my life to date.”
Tara really enjoyed the getting ready process with her best girls. They were so relaxed and calm that they even made time to have a floor picnic with the Flower Girls for lunch! One of the most special moments of the day for bride Tara was revealing her bridal gown to her bridesmaids. As they hadn’t been in the country in the lead up to the wedding, Tara had done the majority of her dress shopping with her Mum. Tara reports her husband loved her choice of dress (and she doesn’t think he’d be silly enough to say otherwise!). The couple feel the best part of their whole day was when their celebrant (fortunately a really close friend of the couple) asked them to take a look at the guests who had joined them for the day.
The process of dress shopping was a really interesting experience for Tara. “I spent some time at the start of my search looking at dress shops that stocked dresses from a number of different designers but nothing I saw off the rack quite hit the mark for me.” Tara first found WFML at a bridal expo and booked in straight away. “I was in love. The best part about the experience was that I could design my own dress based on Vanessa’s designs and make changes to different parts of the dress that I wanted. This meant that I could ultimately create the dream dress I was looking for.”
“The service and process at WFML was amazing. Both Vanessa and Stephanie were fantastic! At each appointment I was greeted with a glass of French Champagne and treated like a Princess. From trying on different dresses, to various fittings and beyond I loved the process of buying my wedding dress at WMFL. A WMFL bride for me is someone who are looking for a traditional wedding dress that exemplifies current trends and styles. They are looking for a dress that is comfortable and an absolutely gorgeous design. They want to be a part of the process of putting together their dress and accessories like headpieces and veil and they want to look and feel gorgeous on their special day! In my opinion, there is no better bride than a WFML bride.”
Tara’s advice to future brides is, “…to make sure you go with a designer that is happy to make changes for you. Unless of course you fall in love with the exact design of a particular dress but I think just having the option to personalise your dress even just a little bit to suit you is really important. When you put the dress on you need to feel 100% confident and yourself so make sure your dress shows that! It sounds corny, but if I were to have my day all over again there is NOTHING that I would change. As a matter of fact people are probably sick of hearing me say it but I would love nothing more than to relive the day again exactly as it happened.”
