WFML Real Bride: Phoebe

“I just wanted to say a huge thank you for creating such a beautiful dress for me! You and your team made the whole process so easy; I felt so comfortable the whole time. I thought I would send through a quick photo so you could see your work in action. Thank you again – I felt amazing on the day!!”
Read below how our beautiful bride Phoebe found the dress of her dreams and how her wedding went.

So please tell us – with months (or even years!) of planning, did the Big Day run smoothly!?
The day ran really smoothly actually. We had spent a lot of time planning in the 12 months prior to the wedding and it really paid off. The coordinator at our venue, Bi, was really organised and helpful and we had a great group of vendors there on the day, which all helped it run so well!

WFML Real Bride Phoebe (5)Was your wedding themed? Did you and your hubby go for a traditional feel or more contemporary style?
We didn’t have a particular theme in mind, but went more with colours and looks that we liked (we owe a big thanks to Pinterest for helping us with our research!). I would describe it as a mixture of traditional and contemporary I think. We picked and chose elements that suited us and our relationship. We had a first look which I really liked; I didn’t have any nerves walking down the aisle as I had already seen Jon! However, other elements were more traditional, such as the ceremony itself.

How did The Dress fit into your theme? Did you have an idea of which style you wanted before beginning the search for your Bridal Gown? And did this change much after you saw the girls at WFML?
Again, I owe a big thank you to Pinterest here. I had done a lot of research and had decided on the style I wanted for the big day. The girls at WFML helped this vision come to life in a way that suited my shape and tastes. The dress was also what I would describe as a mixture of traditional and contemporary; a simple yet flattering style that combined both silk and lace.

Did your man choose his Suit? Or with some guidance did you help him? Did his suit compliment your gown? (or was it the other way around hehe).
He may have had a little help… We had already bought the bridesmaids dresses, and wanted the suits to match in with those, so we went looking together and choose a fit that Jon liked, in a colour I liked! I think any suit really would have complimented the dress, but the one we choose certainly went well (we think!)

How many dresses did you try on before you knew it was the one? 5? 10? 15+?
I had been to a few different stores, and even had another dress in mind, but I didn’t want to make any decisions until I had been to WFML, as I had liked the designs I had seen online. I’m glad I waited! I wouldn’t even say that I knew my dress was ‘the one’, but more that I knew WFML was the place that could make ‘the one’. I instantly felt comfortable with the girls, and spent about an hour at my first appointment trying different styles together and looking at different materials. After spending that time, we came up with something that was uniquely me, and it was the first time in the planning process that I felt like a true bride.

How did your gown make you feel on your very Special Day?
It is rare that I would say I feel both comfortable and beautiful at the same time, but that is how I would describe it! The dress was made for me, and so, not just fit me, but also suited me perfectly! I felt great all day.

Were the girls from When Freddie met Lilly helpful in what can be quite a busy and time consuming process when find The Dress?
The girls at WFML know their stuff. To be honest, I was nervous about how easy it was! We decided on a style on the first meeting, measured on the next and then came back for a final fitting – so straightforward and simple to organise.

Any tips for our future Brides choosing a gown that makes the day complete?
I have heard stories of brides who tried a dress on and by luck it was the one for them, but I would encourage brides to do their research, and have an idea of budget, what style they like and what suits their shape. Make sure you are truly happy with your dress and aren’t compromising because of time or other factors. The number one thing is that the dress makes you feel your best, so that you can focus on all of the other wonderful parts of your day (while looking great!)
