WFML Real Bride: Meg
To be surrounded by family, friends and nature; the sweetest wedding plan for such a lovely couple. Meg and her beau tied the knot with an intimate ceremony at her Parent’s property and as you can see from the photos below, they styled it to perfection! Meg wore our Carmel Gown, which features our Addie Lace and beautiful Crinkle Chiffon.
So Meg, please tell us – with months (or even years!) of planning, did the Big Day run smoothly?
The day was absolutely perfect! We organised the wedding at my parents house, so everyone was running around like crazy sorting everything out at the last minute. But when it came time to walk down the aisle, everything flowed like clockwork. It was so special.
Was your wedding themed? Did you and your hubby go for a traditional feel or more contemporary style?
There was no real theme, I just wanted to be outdoors, surrounded by nature and all of our friends and family.
How did The Dress fit into your theme? Did you have an idea of which style you wanted before beginning the search for your Bridal Gown? And did this change much after you saw the girls at WFML?
The dress was perfect with long sleeves for winter, and was elegant and relaxed, to fit with the vibe. I only had very vague ideas about what I wanted in a dress, that I couldn’t articulate very well until I met the girls and Vanessa at WFML who had lots of fun helping find the right dress.
Did your man choose his Suit? Or with some guidance did you help him? Did his suit compliment your gown? (or was it the other way around?).
He chose his own suit. We talked about colours, but we were both on the same page about what would work, so it was easy!
How many dresses did you try on before you knew it was the one? 5? 10? 15+?
I only tried on a few at WFML, nowhere else. I was lucky to find a beautiful dress right at the beginning.
How did your gown make you feel on your very Special Day?
I never wanted to take my dress off! I just fit so beautifully, and made me feel incredible. I hadn’t fully appreciated the significance of ‘the dress’ until I was wearing it and my veil down the aisle. Plus it was easy to have fun and dance all night in!
Were the girls from When Freddie met Lilly helpful in what can be quite a busy and time consuming process when find The Dress?
The girls were so helpful, especially with the few last minute changes we made to the dress. They knew how to help reduce a busy brides pre-wedding stress! (The champagne helped!)
Any tips for our future Brides choosing a gown that makes the day complete?
Find a gown that makes you feel special, and isn’t going to impede on any of the fun later in the evening. For me, I wanted the gown to have some significance too, my dress had long lacy sleeves and so did my Mum’s. It was a lovely touch.
