WFML Real Bride: Leonie
WFML Bride Leonie had a rustic romantic themed farm wedding. Read below how she found the wedding dress that made her feel like a goodess.
So Leonie, please tell us – with months (or even years!) of planning, did the Big Day run smoothly!?
Our wedding was such a magical day. It was on a beautiful farm, celebrating love and family. It was both our second wedding. We got engaged in December 2016 for my 40th after we had a love ceremony which was really unexpected as I thought my man didn’t want to get married again. We were married in November 2017. There was so much love, we made a baby boy at our wedding, I am due my third child in August.
Was your wedding themed? Did you and your hubby go for a traditional feel or more contemporary style?
Yes it was had a rustic romantic theme with flower crowns, bow ties, lace, feathers and vintage flowers.
How did The Dress fit into your theme? Did you have an idea of which style you wanted before beginning the search for your Bridal Gown? And did this change much after you saw the girls at WFML?
I wanted a lace dress without a train as I knew it would get ruined being a farm. I saw the gown online and as soon as I tried it on I knew it was perfect for me.
Did your man choose his Suit? Or with some guidance did you help him? Did his suit compliment your gown? (or was it the other way around hehe).
Jarkko wore a waistcoat and bow tie from Politix which we picked together. He had a purple bowtie which matched my flowers.
How many dresses did you try on before you knew it was the one? 5? 10? 15+?
It only tried on a few dresses before I found this one. I found the gown on Still White as it was made for another bride.
How did your gown make you feel on your very Special Day?
I felt like a beautiful goddess and it was so comfortable to wear.
Were the girls from When Freddie met Lilly helpful in what can be quite a busy and time consuming process when find The Dress?
Yes the girls were wonderful. I had to have the dress altered as it was too long and I used the lace from the dress on my wedding cake.
Any tips for our future Brides choosing a gown that makes the day complete?
My advice is pick a style that you love and make sure it is comfortable.
What other vendors (cake, venue, photographer etc) did you use for your day?
My photos are utterly beautiful and were taken by my sister in law who is a wedding photographer.
We got married at Brockhurst farm in Ocean View. http://www.brockhurstfarm.com.au
