WFML Formal Girl: Sarah
Sarah combined two gowns for her formal dress and we loved it so much we added it to the collection! See the first ever Dawn Gown here.
So please tell us – with months of planning, did the formal run smoothly!?
Very much so! It was a bit of a shock to my mum and I as we are known to forget a thing or two. Although, there was an incident with the transport. The Hummer was coming down one steep hill and about to accelerate up but back of the engine couldn’t handle the step ascend neither could it of back out. Luckily, that night one of the houses on the street were having a dinner party and graciously gave us lifts in their 1930s Rolls Royce, BMW, and a Chrysler! How awesome is that!?
How did The Dress fit into your theme? Did you have an idea of which style you wanted before beginning the search for your Formal Gown? And did this change much after you saw the girls at WFML?
The formal itself didn’t have a theme and neither did I so I had a lot of freedom and options to choose from. After looking through many many shops you start to see the same dress however once I clicked on to WFML, I knew instantly that I had to go there, their dresses were nothing like I had ever seen before.
How many dresses did you try on before you knew it was the one? 5? 10? 15+?
Oh boy! I think I ended up trying a solid 40 dresses which after a became a bit of a nightmare for mum.
How did your gown make you feel on your very Special Day?
Beautiful! I felt soo incredibly beauty. The dress was just one of a kind and that is how felt too. I had soo many people come up to me commenting on the dress. There was one lady, a dressmaker, and she commented on how beautifully the dress was made from the switching to the pattern work.
We’re the girls from When Freddie met Lilly helpful in what can be quite a busy and time-consuming process when finding The Dress?
The girls at WFML went above and beyond. Before I could even try on the third dress, they pinned point exactly what I was looking for. As well as that, the dress was originally planned for another formal which was much sooner and kindly, the girls took on the job and I manage to get it to me a week before.
Any tips for our future Formal girls choosing a gown that makes the day complete?
My advice for the future formal girls:
1. Be open and spontaneous, it is your formal, a night of extravagant gowns.
2. Even if you think that a certain dress isn’t your style or you don’t think the style suits you. Try it, you might surprise yourself.
3. Look for dresses that uniquely speak to you and rock it like Rocky!
