The beautiful High Church in Brisbane was the setting for Monique’s big day. She chose a beautiful gown from When Freddie met Lilly to wear for her walk down the aisle and the start of married life!
So please tell us – with months (or even years!) of planning, did the Big Day run smoothly!?
Our wedding day was perfect and everything ran smoothly, I wish I could do it all again and make it go slow, the time just goes far too quick.
Was your wedding themed? Did you and your hubby go for a traditional feel or more contemporary style?
We didn’t have a theme. Our wedding was a mix of both traditional and contemporary, bringing together both of our styles. We both really wanted certain aspects of tradition in our wedding ceremony with a more contemporary style reception. We wouldn’t change a thing about it, everything was just how we imagined.
How did The Dress fit into your theme? Did you have an idea of which style you wanted before beginning the search for your Bridal Gown? And did this change much after you saw the girls at WFML?
I always imagined myself in a simple, flowing dress but didn’t have a design in mind. I originally looked on the WFML website and a dress caught my eye so I made an appointment. I met with Monica who was so lovely, I told her the style I liked and from there she collected similar styles for me to try on, I knew immediately that I loved the dress but had to eliminate the others so continued to try them on and went back to the original and fell in love all over again!
Did your man choose his Suit? Or with some guidance did you help him? Did his suit compliment your gown? (or was it the other way around hehe).
I helped him choose the suit, we both agreed on the colour and he chose the bow tie. I would say we both complimented each other!
How many dresses did you try on before you knew it was the one? 5? 10? 15+?
NONE, It was the first one I tried on! I did try on different combinations but I kept going back to the original and with mums approval I knew it was the right one.
How did your gown make you feel on your very Special Day?
I thought my dress was beautiful and suited me perfectly, I felt pretty amazing in it.
Were the girls from When Freddie met Lilly helpful in what can be quite a busy and time consuming process when find The Dress?
The girls were lovely to deal with, they made my mum and I feel very welcome and were so helpful with choosing designs. I was feeling excited more than anything and to have walked out of my appointment with a deposit paid was such a relief. I have already recommended bride to be’s to check out WFML
Any tips for our future Brides choosing a gown that makes the day complete?
I would suggest going with an open mind and if you see a dress but it isn’t completely your style still try it on because you just never know. I couldn’t recommend WFML enough, they really know how to look after their clients and know how to choose a dress that best suits your style and figure.
