The delightful When Freddie met Lilly bride Imke chose our ANGEL GOWN for her beautiful big day at the Story Bridge Hotel. She described the dress as her “dream” and said the whole day was amazing! Read more about Imke’s experience below.
So please tell us – with months (or even years!) of planning, did the Big Day run smoothly !?
Our big day ran perfectly. My husband and I had a very short engagement – only four months in total. He was a wonderful groom, very involved in the planning and always keen to help out. My mother was also a wonderful help to me.
Was your wedding themed? Did you and your hubby go for a traditional feel or more contemporary style?
Our wedding was not themed. My husband and I went for a traditional feel to the wedding. We got married at St Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Spring Hill, an old and beautiful church.
How did The Dress fit into your theme? Did you have an idea of which style you wanted before beginning the search for your Bridal Gown? And did this change much after you saw the girls at WFML?
My dress fit perfectly with our traditional theme. The lace sleeves were so elegant and timeless. It also fit in well with the church wedding. I knew that I did not want a strapless dress before I started searching.
Did your man choose his Suit? Or with some guidance did you help him? Did his suit compliment your gown? (or was it the other way around hehe).
My husband chose his suit, and the groomsmen suits by himself. He wanted something classic, and something that will make him stand out from his boys. He ended up choosing a tuxedo for himself, and classic black suits for the groomsmen. His tux complemented my dress perfectly! He did show me pictures before buying the suits but he chose them by himself.
How many dresses did you try on before you knew it was the one? 5? 10? 15+?
The dress I chose was actually the first one I tried on. I saw it on your website and really liked the look of it. I went on to try about 9 or so dresses after (all at When Freddie met Lilly) but I knew my dress was the one as soon as I tried it on.
How did your gown make you feel on your very Special Day?
My gown made me feel amazing. It was so beautiful and so comfortable – which I was not really expecting. All through out the day I had people compliment the dress and telling me that it was very “me”. So I think the style suited me very well.
Were the girls from When Freddie met Lilly helpful in what can be quite a busy and time consuming process when find The Dress?
The girls from When Freddie met Lilly were simply amazing. From the moment I stepped in to the day I picked up my dress they were wonderfully helpful and nice. I had quite a few friends get married this year and last year, and the experience I had shopping with them was so different. The chain stores are just impersonal and you get the feeling you’re just another number. My experience with WFML felt personal and like the girls really cared about my day.
Any tips for our future Brides choosing a gown that makes the day complete?
My tips for future brides is to not stress the small things, and not to have a rigid idea of what your day should be like. The day should be about you and your husband, and the love you share. Don’t put unnecessary pressure on yourself to be perfect for the day. Lastly make sure you take a few minutes with your new husband to be alone and take in your day. It flies by so quickly.
