WFML Real Bride: Laura

Posted by on

Being able to get married on their original date and having all their planned number of guests attend, Laura and Toby hit the wedding jackpot during this crazy Covid reality. With a backup plan of getting eloped and holding a big party when covid permitted, the couple were super excited to be able to keep their original wedding plans and see the perfect day through.

When reflecting on their wedding, Laura said they they just couldn't fault their day! There was just one slight hiccup, which thankfully happened the day before the wedding! The black, round arbour Laura had hired for the ceremony, was a vibrant John Deere Green when it arrived! However, Laura's wonderful brother saved the day and was able to paint it the morning of the wedding. Phew!

Laura's Pa and Toby's Granddad were unfortunately unable to attend the big day, due to age and distance, yet they were able to incorporate beautiful, sentimental pieces from their weddings over 61 years ago! How special! This included a beautiful buttonhole and a pair of earrings. Laura's Grandma passed away unexpectedly a month before the wedding as well, so they honoured this beautiful part of their family by lighting a candle durning the ceremony.

During the wedding gown planning, Laura thought she knew exactly what she wanted. In fact, she had even been to another bridal store and thought she found THE one! But then, Laura and her maid of honour came to us at WFML and fell in love with the dress she ended up choosing (which even happened to be completely different to the original gown!). Laura said that she loved her dress - she mentioned it was an amazing feeling putting it on on the day - it made it all finally seem real! Husband Toby, got his suit made by a family friend. He was very easy going so it was a simple process and he looked very handsome on the day!

Laura and Toby had the hard job of organising their wedding from 1200kms away. Can you imagine?! Laura said these kind words about the process of working with us: "Vanessa and her team were incredibly accommodating with fitting appointments in around short trips to Brisbane. It was really special to experience buying my dress through the team at WFML, especially since i also bought my formal dress through them!"

We also asked Laura to share some advice for bride's going through the wedding planning process and this is what she had to say: "Try on different styles to what you think you want, you never know what might actually suit you! You also cant go wrong with the assistance from the girls at WFML!!"

Massive congratulations Laura & Toby. The day was absolutely stunning and it was our pleasure to help create Laura's dream gown.
