WFML Real Couple: Kelly & Pierre

Posted by on

"We set a date in late June for a grand total of 11 people, and so our micro wedding was born!" Read below to hear more about Kelly & Pierre's incredible micro-wedding!

By getting married in Pierre's parent's backyard at Fingal Head, surrounded by lush greenery and a gorgeous lagoon, their big day was picture perfect! Pierre & Kelly decided on a Tipi in the garden to create a luxury feel for the event - what a great idea!

Kelly recalled not getting started on wedding gown shopping until their date was booked. She knew she was not after something traditional and therefore had no desire to trawl through wedding shop, after wedding shop! Hence why Kelly found us and our bespoke services. "I liked their aesthetic and loved that they catered to brides that weren’t built like a supermodel. I went looking for a particular style but when I tried it on I wasn’t convinced. The girls and WFML bought out some other options and showed me how we could customise a gown that was already pretty special, into something really wow!" It means so much when customers say kind words like these about designing a wedding gown with us:

"Finding a custom wedding gown designer three streets away from my house was an absolute blessing! To find a custom wedding gown designer so close to where I live that did everything possible to deliver a real ‘wow’ gown was superb! I count myself so lucky that I found Vanessa and her WFML team, their energy, vision and care made what could be a hard process, easy." Kelly's gown was described as very "Gone with the Wind" and she loved that the petticoat included could be easily dropped out to ensure the dinner and reception element of the evening was comfortable. After such a positive experience creating her dream gown, Kelly suggested that Pierre pop into our studio to design his suit. So that is what he did! A few weeks later we guided Pierre through our "encyclopaedia of fabrics" to ensure the design was exactly what he imagined.

"Vanessa knew what we were creating for me so was able to guide Pierre into making some great choices! He looked amazing and it was clear to all of us just how special he felt in that suit! He said that the special touches like embroidering his name into the jacket really made the whole experience really special."Kelly's tip to future brides it to let your gown consultant in to what you want and what you want to achieve with your dress. The more they understand ‘you’ the easier the process will be. They are experts in their field so let them guide you, don’t try to run the appointment too much yourself. Go with the flow and be open to new possibilities.
