WFML REAL BRIDE: EMMA

Posted by on

For Emma and Peter, their perfect day couldn’t have come soon enough. Being engaged at the end of December 2019 they planned to be married in September the following year, which was a pretty short time span in wedding years. Having to postpone their wedding twice, they were finally married at the registry in Brisbane in March and then had their much awaited wedding with their friends and family in September. If 90% of our wedding wasn’t already paid for, we would’ve been happy to just have our registry wedding, but both days were beautiful.

Emma, being a wedding planner herself, knew she could create a gorgeous wedding within their limited timeframe. Their original March wedding was not ideal, as Emma was driving to her hair and makeup, she was told there was a lockdown starting at 5pm that day. That's when the couple made the decision to be married at the registry. “We didn’t want a 2-year engagement and we were happy to be married as soon as possible. We even had a zoom set up for those who could not attend”.

But, we did end up having a 2 year engagement because of covid. As the lockdowns set in, we eventually had our September wedding with only QLD friends and family attending. Despite everything, all the ups and downs along the way, everything was still perfect.

After trying on 5 dresses, Emma heard about When Freddie Met Lilly. She came and visited Vanessa at the studio and fell in love with a gold sparkly dress and with a few alterations, it was perfect! I felt the best I had ever felt. I wish I had slept in it so I could have spent more time in it!

As for Peter, he already knew exactly where he wanted to get his suit from and I was there to help him pick it out.

My entire experience with When Freddie Met Lilly was extremely helpful and super friendly, especially consulting with Vanessa. She made the experience very comfortable in a somewhat stressful time. I highly recommend everyone to see Vanessa to discuss your vision for your wedding.

My last piece of advice is to try something you might not expect yourself to like. I have a pear shaped body type, so my immediate thought was to go for an A-line dress. I ended up buying two dresses that were tight fitting and complemented my curves.

Emma looked absolutely stunning in both her gowns and we couldn’t be more excited to have been part of the couples’ special day when it finally arrived. We wish both of you a lifetime of happiness.
