I could never imagine myself in a wedding dress. That's when I saw the gowns at When Freddie Met Lilly with the different colours and styles and I fell in love! Everything was to die for! Even though Emily and her now husband Brendan contracted Covid just 3 weeks before the wedding, they were determined not to change the date. They didn’t want a long engagement and figured everything happens for a reason. So, the couple pushed through the stress and had the most PERFECT summer wedding.
Plus, 99% of our closest family and friends were able to attend which made the day just that little bit extra special. Everything ran perfectly! The only hiccup was one of the groomsmen forgetting his shirt and having to make a mad dash to get another!
The dress is arguably the most important factor of a bride's wedding. It defines their bridal style and their dreams for their perfect day. Before I came to When Freddie Met Lilly I did go shopping, at least to try some dresses on. I quickly decided a standard wedding dress just wasn’t for me. I then stumbled upon Vanessa’s collection launch at Blackbird. I thoroughly enjoyed the show and found I was drawn to her style. After booking an appointment and slipping on multiple styles I wasn’t quite sure I fell absolutely head over heels for anything.
That’s when I tried the Georgia and Esther gown and I knew I needed them in my life! I ended up creating my very own blend of the Georgia and Esther gown and I just fell in love. Vanessa helped me create my perfect dress and tailored it to my body and made me feel absolutely stunning. It was PERFECT. I’ll forever be grateful that I trusted Vanessa with creating the dress of my dreams. I felt absolutely beautiful in my gown!
As for Brendan, he is a very laid back caring man. He wanted something simple and something that would compliment me. We ended up going with a very simple, elegant and classy look of cream and white.
As for my advice for other brides, just go with your gut. Forget your budget. No one is ever going to truly know how you feel in your dress and every bride deserves to wear the dress of their dreams! Our wedding day was the most perfect day and we wish we could do it all over again! Savour each and every moment because it truly is the best day ever!
