The Special Day!
We had to postpone due to covid. We wanted to have as many of our family & friends from Adelaide and Melbourne as possible and made the call early that our dream wedding wasn’t going to happen in August so moved it to May. 🥰
Our day couldn’t of been more perfect honestly. We believe everything happens for a reason and postponing was an absolute blessing in disguise! Our Original plan didn’t include our incredible catering team or marquee set up and without those things it wouldn’t of been as magical as it was.
We secretly hoped life would go back to ‘normal’ and international travel would be possible to get my husband’s grandparents out from the UK, but we FaceTimed them during the ceremony instead!
Apart from moving the date covid restrictions didn’t affect us as our venue was at a family friends’ property so we are very lucky!
The Dress!
I went in with a vision of something flowy & made of tule. I also went with an open mind knowing I will have that ‘this is the one’ feeling when it was right. I didn’t want anything to typically ‘bridal’ with train or a vale but with the guidance of Laura I ended up with the total opposite of what I ever thought. (Fitted with a long train and a big vale and I couldn’t be happier with that decision)
I tried on about 6 dresses before Laura pulled a dress for me to try just to rule out a style and I instantly feel in love before I had even looked in the mirror!
On our wedding day I honestly felt so so beautiful. The dress was just absolutely perfect, and I was just so so happy in it all day!!
The Tips!
My tip to future brides is to be open to trying it all - you never know your dream dress may be everything you thought you wouldn’t want!! Also HAVE FUN- when will you ever try on bridal gowns again!
Remember it is your day & not a time to people please - it’s just for you and your incredible life partner. Have it how you want it and invite those who you hold close to your heart. Try not to get caught up in what everyone else wants (trust me I know it’s hard). Talk to your partner about what you both really truly want from your day, set your intentions for you day and I can guarantee you’ll both have such a magical time xx
