WFML REAL BRIDE: DAILE & MICHAEL - COLOURED WEDDING GOWN DESIGN

Posted by on

The gorgeous Daile & Michael tied the knot one year and a few days after their magical proposal on top of a snowy mountain in Japan. For their special day they wanted a relaxed, enjoyable and family-orientated vibe instead of being confined to any particular theme. According to the bride, having a 6 month old baby was challenging at times but was surrounded by loving friends and family to help look after her. They stayed in a villa at Tallai Retreat on the Gold Coast with friends and family, using the gazebo for the ceremony and the backyard for the big party with friends and family. The couple decided to greet their guests together to avoid the pressure of hiding away or walking down the aisle, although they still decided to have a dress reveal which was a magical moment they shared together.

Staying away from the traditional theme, Michael danced down the aisle with his two kids and their 6 month old baby to ‘Crazy in Love’ by Beyonce and Jay Z. While it wasn’t a DIY wedding, they definitely put a lot of time and effort into planning, organising and even setting up themselves. They sourced native Australian florals from a local flower market and their friends made the bouquets the night before the wedding. The couple kept things casual by focusing on joining their family and ensuring their kids knew that they were a big part of their special day.

Knowing that she didn’t want a ‘traditional’ white wedding dress, Daile did some online searching and found the ‘When Freddie Met Lilly’ website and after a browse she fell in love with the ‘Debbie Two-Piece Gown’. After visiting the studio and trying on other options (even a white gown) to make sure she was happy to go with a different style. She loved all of the gowns but was completely in love with the stunning two-piece she had her heart set on. Daile mentioned that the entire process of trying on the dress, alterations and picking it up was super easy. “Everyone at WFML is warm and friendly and you feel like they are a part of your special day. Vanessa spent the fitting holding my 4 month old baby who wouldn’t settle with anyone while I tried on dresses. I felt so comfortable which helped me be in the right headspace to make the best decision for my dress.”

All friends and family who saw the dress in real life or in photos were blown away at how stunningly perfect it was for Daile. “I felt like a goddess! Everyone was amazed by the dress and that it was a top and skirt. It was perfect for the day and suited my style. It was ‘wedding’ enough to wow everyone but also fit the vibe of the day.”

As for Michael, he wore a suit that he already had in his wardrobe with the addition of a bow tie from Peggy and Fin, picked out by the bride to match her dress colours. It was the perfect addition to Daile’s dress and their special day.

When we asked Daile if she had any tips for future brides she said, “Choose a gown that you love, something you feel comfortable in and that will allow you to eat, drink, and dance! I felt amazing in my dress and it was a style that suited me. I can’t wait to wear it again!”

Congratulations Daile & Michael!
