After extending their wedding for a year due to covid, June 2021 was an exciting time for Beck and Derek. The idea of their ceremony only having ten people during June 2020 with the covid restrictions, didn’t feel right for them. As they figured that they were in no rush and along with their wintery gown and suit planned, it brought them to their beautiful wedding day in June 2021. Just like Beck described it, “It was so worth the wait".
It is always very memorable to have family, friends, and loved ones to be there to witness your special day. Unfortunately, Derek’s family from Italy and Rebecca’s close friends from the UK were not able to physically attend. However, their loved ones were all present during the night from across the world through video calls. This made it very special for both Beck and Derek.
Despite everything, their Big Day was still very perfect to them. They were both very grateful for everyone that contributed to making their day run so smoothly. This included their families and vendors. Beck wanted to pinpoint the major contributor that made the magic happened. This goes to Nola at Entangled Events, who she describes as an absolute ‘wizard’!
In the beginning, Beck tried on around 20 dresses which, she described as ‘traditional’ gowns. She has always wished for a sequinned dress and so after all her try-on, she was able to reinforce herself to finding the perfect sequinned dress.
Beck went to see us at WFML, and she instantly knew she struck gold. That is when she found the beautiful light gold sequinned gown and customised it with a lower back and beaded shoulder details. It made her feel as if she was a 1920s Hollywood movie star. Beck said, “Vanessa brought my sparkly vintage dreams to come to life and the immaculate alterations were done by Nikki at Skilled Stitches. I couldn’t love my dress more - I’m completely obsessed”. For Derek, he wanted to go for something different. That led him to his unique dark green velvet jacket. Beck did drop a few cheeky hints on the styles and colours that will compliment her gown – he sure did do a great job in evaluating those hints!
We asked Beck a little more about her experience with WFML. She responded that the team made the “experience feel personalised and special as they paid attention to what I like, didn't like, and worked with me to create a bespoke gown that suited me perfectly.” She also mentioned that “the dress fitting was definitely a highlight of the whole wedding preparation experience!”.
Beck’s tip for all our future brides is to try on all the different styles and colours gowns, even if it is not your usual style. You may be surprised with the gown you end up walking down the aisle in.
