The love story of Alyce and Dave was celebrated recently at the picturesque Maleny Manor. Surrounded by family and friends the couple danced, laughed and shed a few tears of joy as they committed to a beautiful life, together. We spoke to Alyce after their special day to find out a bit more, and to see what she found helpful and important in the planning process. Read what she had to share below!
We planned our big day for about 12 months, we went to only four venue viewings and once we walked into Maleny Manor we fell in love. The final 3 months leading up to the wedding was pretty full on, so many hours of planning, I defiantly gave up all of my spare time during the week after work and all my weekends. Dave works FIFO and works away for long periods, but trusted me with most of the planning, he still was involved in a lot of the bigger decisions.
The team at Maleny Manor made the whole day so perfect, the day and evening went so smoothly. The team went above and beyond in all aspects of the wedding and all our hours of planning defiantly payed off, it really was our dream wedding.
We both knew we wanted a relaxed vibe with lots of white and greenery which made our theme planning very simple. Our theme was rustic luxe and modern elegance. We decided we wanted lots of spring florals and greenery, we were able to create exactly what we had imagined with the help of the team at Lovebirds Styling and Mondo Floral Design, the set up really turned out flawless.
The dress fit into the theme of the wedding perfectly, the lace and dress design really complementing the floral bouquets. When I first begun researching dresses online, I had a few different ideas.
My bridesmaids and I went to a few boutiques around Brisbane trying on all styles. I eventually picked the dress that I wanted, this was one I found on Instagram. I couldn’t find anything even close to it, I was starting to think I would have to fly down to Melbourne. WFML was the last place we visited and by now I was feeling pretty low and didn’t think I was ever going to find this dress.
Once we arrived Vanessa greeted my bridesmaids and I, offered us champagne and away we went. We only tried a few dresses on before I fell in love with one. I showed Vanessa the photo of the dress I wanted and she explained that I was able to alter the dress to meet these wishes. I was so extremely happy and it turned out just perfect!
Dave had a few different ideas in mind of the suits he wanted, he usually has no problems picking his attire. I helped with a few ideas but he pretty much chose them all on his own. They turned out perfectly and really looked great with the wedding dress.
I would say I tried about 15 dresses on before I choose the one. The experience at WFML was by far the stand out to the other boutiques we went to. Vanessa gave us a more relaxed vibe and gave us the time to sit and actually think about all the options.
When I put the gown on that day I felt on top of the world, I was so happy that it looked perfect and I couldn’t wait for Dave to see me in it!
Vanessa and her lovely team were so professional, talented and friendly. It was so enjoyable visiting her at the studio. I searched everywhere in Brisbane and couldn’t find the dress I had in mind, Vanessa was able to create everything i wanted in a dress and more. The team at WFML were very accommodating, with appointments at the crack of dawn to fit me in and always offering a glass of bubbles to calm my nerves. Such a hard working team and nothing I asked was ever too hard, WFML delivered exceptional service and a phenomenal dress.
For any future brides ensure you start searching for your dress well before the wedding, you want to make sure you are absolutely in love with your dress and not something to rush into. Make sure it is what you want and not what anyone else wants, this is your day!”
