It’s not everyday we get the absolute pleasure of creating custom gowns for 2 amazing blushing brides. Just like their dresses, the couple ended up having 2 weddings! Unfortunately, COVID played quite a big role in the planning of their wedding. Knowing that many of their friends had to postpone their celebrations, they tried to keep numbers small. Their magical day was postponed from September 2021, to March 2022 due to restrictions. However, the couple decided to look at this decision as a positive. “Now we have two dates we can celebrate and remember forever and double the wonderful memories!” all the while surrounded by friends and family!
“Apart from waking up at 4:45am because we were too excited to sleep, we were lucky that the potential bad weather and risk of covid held out. We spent the day of the wedding getting ready together, so we attribute having each other there as support for everything being calm and easy - we are better together and couldn’t imagine not doing it all as one”.
As for the gowns, When Freddie Met Lilly was actually our first stop for trying on gowns.
Britt: “My sister sent me the WFML website during my search for a dress and I knew right then and there I wanted to go see them in person. Once we were greeted at the door by Coco, it felt meant to be. The dress that I ended up picking was one of the two that I had screenshotted and kept ready to look for before we went along. It was just as beautiful in person.”
Ellen: “I didn't have any idea what style of dress I wanted and was just waiting to get some input and advice from the professionals on the day. The dress I fell in love with wasn't what I thought I would like at all and was so happy Vanessa could make the alterations I wanted.”
In the end, we honestly only tried on about one dress each before we made our final decisions. Once we put on the dresses that we chose and Vanessa made suggestions for the alterations to make them our own, we knew they were the ones! We were so sure, we didn't look anywhere else and loved the idea that both our dresses would come from the same place.
Everyone we spoke to or dealt with at WFML were absolutely amazing and so incredibly kind and helpful, especially Vanessa. The time and effort she spent with us on every visit and fitting, was just second to none. She made our experience enjoyable and easy - we knew once we had picked our dresses we wouldn’t need to worry about anything else and they would be made beautifully.
“We loved how well the gowns complimented each other and that was the main compliment we received from everyone on the day. They were completely different styles but had the same undertone colour to create the perfect pairing.
“Our advice to other brides is trust your instincts for what you do and don’t like - the day is about you, so you need to be in love with your gown! Particularly at WFML keep in mind that the dresses can be customised just by talking to the team.
