10 Ideas for an Epic New Year’s Eve Wedding

New Year’s Eve isn’t just for beginning a new year; many couples are choosing it as their wedding day. Why just bring in a new year when you could begin a new marriage as well. When Freddie met Lilly has compiled this list of ideas to make your New Year’s Eve wedding unforgotten.

1. Book vendors as soon as possible

As you may know, New Year’s Eve is a big day for party planners and services. Therefore, you want to make sure you book vendors including DJs, caterers, and venues plenty in advances or you may end up with one you don’t like as much or at all.

2. Timing is important

Here at When Freddie met Lilly we know timing is an important part of all wedding planning. However, it is even more so when dealing with a New Year’s Eve Wedding. You need to decide what you want to be doing when that clock strikes midnight. If you want to be kissing after your “I do” at midnight plan for a late wedding. If you want your reception to be in full swing at midnight plan for a 7 PM wedding, just leave yourself a little wiggle room.

3. Keep your colours true to the holiday

You, of course, can always have the colours you desire. However, if you want to stick with the glitz and glam that often comes with a New Year’s Eve wedding try sticking with blacks and whites or even add champagne and glitter gold. When Freddie met Lilly offers several different dresses that work wonderfully for these types of weddings. The Milla Cocktail is a simple black gown that is comfortable enough your bridesmaids will be dancing along side you all night.

4. Step away from a traditional dress

If you are after a fun and unforgettable wedding, consider the same for your dress. The Lindsey Gown screams New Year’s Eve gown. With its stunning design and shimmering colours, you can’t go wrong with a gown such as this.

5. Wear comfortable shoes

New Year’s Eve can be one of the longest events. This can be both good and bad for your wedding. You have the upside of celebrating your wedding longer, but that also means you are going to get tired and chances are your feet will start to hurt. Therefore, remember to wear comfortable shoes or at least bring a backup.

6. Confetti!

Forget all the rules about what to throw as you walk down the aisle as husband and wife, opt for confetti. Not only is this fun, but it is very festive and make you feel famous!

7. Champagne is a must

Not only are you toasting the new year, but your wedding as well. Therefore, champagne for everyone! What’s even better? An overflowing champagne glass tower.

8. DJ Countdown

Make sure everyone knows its’s midnight by having the DJ countdown. What’s more romantic than a midnight’s kiss with your new husband.

9. Centrepieces for Your New Year’s Eve Wedding

Have your tables decorated with gold table clothes and vintage clocks set to ring in the new year! This way everyone knows what time it is with you.

10. Sparklers Send You Off

Sparklers and confetti what a better what to exit the party as husband and wife than this.
